Have you ever stopped to ask a stranger about their favorite food? I recently had this great experience while vacationing in Chicago with my boyfriend. I asked a local for her advice on where to dine and the way her face lit up while giving us advice and a brief history on her favorite local dining spot was absolutely priceless.
Food excites me. To me, it’s a universal…it’s what brings us together. I’m no connoisseur by any means, but I know what I like and I love sharing food and my cooking with others. A lot of my inspiration for recipes comes from pulling from existing ones and recreating or interpreting it in my own way. Trial and error. Food is my creativity.
In this blog I hope you are able to get the same inspiration and as excited about food the same way I do.
Oh yeah, and I’m Shayna (hi hi hi hi hi). I’m a
30 something 2o something year old living in Bloomington Minneapolis, MN. This blog is dedicated to cooking, dining and everyday experiences. Bon Appetit!
“Love people. Cook them good food.”
…and a very regular contributor here, my boyfriend Rob!
He is the yin to my yang, the Bruce to my Lee, the meatball to my spaghetti…yeah, well you get the point! He is the one who got the ball rolling and motivated me to start and create this blog…in fact, he is the one who built this for me (logo and all…for FREE! shoot, now I’ll probably be getting an invoice in the mail.) He is very creative/artistically talented and…a picky eater, the polar opposite of me. *sidenote* He admitted to me that he once made “spaghetti” with ramen noodles and ketchup. Yep, I did say “creative.” I AM convinced that I will break him of his picky eating…so far I’ve done pretty well, hey, I even got him to admit he enjoyed eating tomatoes once so he’s come a long way!
